Hi, and yes this is yet another request for a knife recommendation.

I am looking for Japanese style folding knives. Something along the lines of a Boker Plus Kwaiken, Mcusta, and a CRKT Otanashi Noh Ken (Hissatsu folder), of which I already own all four.

I really love the slender aesthetic lines of these types of knives.

Thanks in advance.

Rolf, I wouldn't laugh dude. I'm not a knife snob. Whatever rings your bell, you know what I mean. :-)

Higo no Kami Daidai is about as authentic as you could get.

I've been eyeing that knife for a while now. Finally decided to pull the trigger and get it. Thanks.

The Rassenti keystone looks to be in this style. Love it.

The Rassenti is definitely what I am looking for, unfortunately out of my reach for the time being.

Kershaw Asset might appeal to you.

All great suggestions. Thank you.

Not really a BM fan but the Megumi and Shori have always caught my eye.

if you like flippers the Kwaiken can be modified to have a flipper yet not have it protrude with the knife open. From what i heard from Lucas (burnley: designer and knifemaker) Boker is supposed to be making a flipper version of the kwaiken as well.,

That will probably sound strange but I would suggest you to look at Ken Onion Swindle from CRKT. There is something Japanese in it. Its only drawback: it is value-priced. ;)

Thanks. I have three Kwaikens already and have done the flipper mod on all of them.

Nice, thanks for the recommendation.

Have you seen the Mino Kami from AG? It has CF handles with Damascus blade and a liner lock. Pretty cool. I think there is a review on it somewhere here.

Yeah, that knife is on my list. Thanks.

Get. Boker kwaiken and send it to Alex Dietz. Have him do a flipper mod on it.
You wont regret it. Ive heard it completely improves the function of the knife. Really takes advantage of the ikbs.
Look him up on youtube!
