Thank Geezus! I think this will make some people happy.
It is a piece of cake to get the tweener sheath insert out. One the back of the sheath at the bottom (just above the leg tie down rivets) you'll see a single horizontal line of stitching. Take a fine tip, pointy knife (a utility knife will work) and carefully cut the stitches about half an inch, right at the center. That is where the single liner-retainer tab is located. Once that is cut, the liner should pull right out. WAY easier than the old stock sheaths. The liner looks a little more solid too.
I'm going to hit it with the heat gun and give it a squeeze. This should give the sheath much better retention. Not really worried about rubbing the coating...it'll be going bye-bye soon anyway.
