Can't wait to review and use this beast. I am not a member (yet) so I cannot post pics (ugh) but will review it in table top fashion on my YouTube page and post my adventures there with it this weekend on a VA fatwood hunt.

Got the knife from Rocky National who I guess got a delivery of them in and blew them out at $59.99. Matt over at RN told me that they have 6 more coming in and then they are on backorder from Ka-Bar. Seems to be a lot of interest in this knife and just holding it now in my hand (yes, doing the shameless knife fondle ***wipes drool***) I can understand why. Very beefy.

Not a real point to this thread other than I have my new knife, will post on my YouTube page, need to sign up as a member here and share the pron with all.

I know. The wife was laughing (in a menical sort of way) when I was filming the delivery of it by the UPS driver. Due to the snow around here the delivery was delayed. I didn't even video the birth of our two daughters.....

You can still post pics using a host site like photobucket.

I gotta say though, vid of the UPS driver delivering a blade, but not your two children being born? You sir, have your priorities in order;)

Well, at least you have your priorities straight... film the knife, but not the girls.:D I guess that's understandable, since it is a BK-2.

As Spooky said, we need pics! It didn't happen if you don't post pics.

Just so you know, you don't have to be a paying member to post pics (although it's better if you are — I'm going Gold on Wednesday). All you have to do is open a free account with a picture hosting site (I use TinyPic, myself), and upload your pictures to the hosting site (easy, really). Once you've uploaded to the hosting site there will be a bit of code for each picture. Simply copy that and paste it into the location here on Blade Forums where you want it to appear.

PICS, please!

Literally blew water out of my mouth when I saw the comments about having my priorities in order....

sign up for a file hosting account... post pics.... win?

Yeah, standby for some serious knife pics....

Here comes the pron...

The BK and then some random playmates that I just happened to have handy. The usual suspects are there, CS Recon Scout, Mora Craftsman, Kabar FIN blade, Rtak II... threw in the Fenix L2D with headband for good measure and my new $30 200 lumen flame thrower the Ultrafire C1... unreal Cree light for the money.

Congratulations on your BK-2.

It didn't take you long to get the hang of posting pics. In the future, though, you might want to limit them to 640 pixels wide (standard for posting), or 800 pixels wide (max).

Now you have to take that BK-2 out and abuse it, and get pics of that, too.

Enjoy!

Hey dawsonbob,

My pictures in my latest thread are sized 1024 X 768. Are they too big? Do you have to scan back and forth?

Sometimes when you reduce them in size, the picture quality suffers. In the Flip Flop pictures, you will see one where the rope looks like reverse twisted cordage. It didn't look like this in the original picture, but once reduced....................

Looking forward to your reply.

Doc

I forgot to mention, I have a BK-2. I'm just not sure yet, whether I like it or not.

Hey, Doc,

Your pictures show up just fine at 1024 X 768, with no side scrolling involved. I agree that, with some pictures, reducing them in size does make the content suffer because of loss of detail. Other shots really don't need the detail (like most of mine) to get the message across. I guess it's a game-time decision with each set.:D

franchisekid's first pics came in at 1600 x 1200, which did require side scrolling. I think his later pics were actually clearer because of the reduced size. Cameras differ (his mega data lists the camera as a Sanyo, which makes me suspect a cell phone camera), and his first ones were pretty grainy, the latter ones less so.

On your thread — another great one, by the way — I really liked the winch. I had reason to study applied leverage — levers, pulleys, gears, etc. — in my youth, but I never saw it applied in the bush quite like that. I'm going to have to give that a go.

Glad to hear that you're feeling better.

ETA: You've mentioned your BK-2 — Dirty Girl, if I remember correctly — in the past. How could you not love a dirty girl like that? I know I love mine; it's my favorite all around do it all knife.

Sure, I have others, but the BK-2 is what I grab without even having to think about it — especially if I don't know what I'll be facing.
