Guess what I found today at Costco...

I am still waiting for the day I walk into the store and the Winter Lager is back on the shelves. I have never tried the Chocolate Bock. I will have to give it a try.
 
Im not a beer connoisseur,
how long could I keep that beer
before it goes bad?
keep it in the fridge or basement,dark?
thinking of getting some for a few friends for the Holidays

If you were wanting to buy it for the holidays, it would be just fine. The freshness date on that beer should yield about six months from release, most Sam Adams' brews do with few exceptions. However, given the abv range for the typical "bock" style (5.5-7.5%), Sam Adam's comes in at the lower end of the range at 5.6%, so I wouldn't recommend extended cellaring past the freshness date.

That's some good stuff right there, I like the Winter Lager as well as their Oktoberfest, two very good beers that are easy to find and inexpensive.
 
How much is something like that?

I like dark beer and have read positive reviews of it.

Typical pricing is about $10.99-9.99 per 6pk for the "special release" Sam Adam's in a good liquor store around Indy, expect to pay more in stores with more limited selections if they carry much outside the typical Boston Lager and SA Light.
 
I paid about $22 for the 24-bottle "Winter Classics" that includes four each of six different beers, one of which is the Chocolate Bock.

I've seen that pack before at a local bottle shop, do they sell the Chocolate Bock in 6ers in CA?
 
I think that this year's Chocolate Bock was just released. This is the first I have seen of it. I sure hope that it comes in six-packs. They didn't release it last year.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure I noticed any last year either. Well, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for it here in Indy, I've had it before and it was some tasty stuff!!! Fall beers are my favorite, followed closely by winter beers, then summer. Spring brews typically aren't that great IMHO.
 
Ken, if you dig on seasonals...you have to try Sierra Nevada's Harvest Ale. It comes out once a year and is impossible to find here on the East Coast. I had to reserve two cases at the local shop in order to secure a score! Hands down my favorite beer in America.

Glad to see they made a batch this year!!

One of my favorites for winter. I've never seen it in a 12 oz bottle before; use to the bigger 22oz bottle with the metal label.

my hometown beer!! couldn't agree with you more, snwbrdr202, this stuff is awesome. thankfully, there's a wide selection available in Chicago and i don't have to wait for visits to Chico to get it :thumbup::thumbup:
