Yesterday and today, lets see what your Sebenza looks like now.

We all love our knives and love to take pics of our new acquisitions, especially our Sebenzas. It took 25 years before I finally got a Sebenza but when I did, like most I took pictures of my new pocket treasure, I even went so far as to cobble together a 15 minute slip sheath for it.

I recently ran across those first day photos and started to compare how my Sebenza had aged in the last few years since I started carryin' it everyday. I was pleasantly surprised at the patina and character that has developed over time on both the knife and sheath. Anyway here's mine... Lets see yours ;)

Now I know I'll see a lot of Chris Reeves knives that'll look the same as the day they were received (no judgement :) ) but there are a lot out there gettin' put to the test daily in a wage earnin' capacity and those are the ones I wanna see. By all means post your shiny carefully cared for and treasured CGG and your unique graphics Sebbies cause face it, if you have one you love to look at all the others :) so post away with before and afters, it may be added embellishments or just a new sheath post away.

Then there's the ones like me who once they get one and get past the honeymoon period put 'em to work as the name implies and in doin' so acquire a lot of character over the years, that's what I wanna see. So here's mine, where's yours? :)

Before and afters, show 'em if ya got em, I love how the slip sheath wore to conform to the lines of the small 21. You can see where the machine screws and thumb stud are. The clip wet formed in the sheath from a few times gettin' wet and left in the sun to dry. :)

This is a great idea! I'll see if I can find a picture from the day I got mine. It's still less than a year old so it doesn't look too worn yet

The now pics are much nicer , I'll admit that I'm a little jealous of your Seb, as it got older it's belly has gotten smaller....:(

It's one of those knives that even in this digital world there's something organic in its feel and the way the Ti ages is unique to titanium but the best part is you can always send it back to CRK and they'll send you back your knife in a like new condition. :)

T. Erdelyi, tell us the history about the transition from a wooden bead to a brass screw on the sheath. ;)

The wooden bead was put on when I first threw original sheath together but the bead kept poppin' back outta the hole. Then when I made the Ivory plug for the clip recess I saw I had the brass tuning screws for the piano harp in the box with the ivory veneer and ebony keys and thought it looked cool and definitely held more securely as a toggle vs a button and I was right. The brass patinas really nice too :) .

I love brass hardware used with a patina!! No sabenza yet but I like what I see guys nice slip Sheath

Notice the wear and color change on lock bar as well as the change in the handle stonewash. The blue sapphire is still super bright and the blade finish is still 97% ;) if I had to guess, with the daily use.

The stone still shines bright blue and the stone wash blade is super tough.

I maintain that your Blue Steam Ti-Lock is the most badass CRK on this forum. Looks even better with the wear. Really highlights it's "Tattoos".

A question: how did it end up with a silver lockbar? Did I miss that post?

Hey man. Thanks! Believe it or not my thumb wore it that color from all the use. Is transforms from the silverish blue color to rainbow to purple and blue on the other side. It just a shade closer to blue than the pic but that's 95% accurate with out seeing it in person.

Ok. Thanks. My Ti-Lock is on a similar journey, but not as silver yet. For a moment I thought you'd removed the Ano, or had them put one of the new Ti-Lock "elemental" silver springs in.

Great thread!

Wish I would have taken a pick on day one, but it kinda looked like every other Large 21 Insingo, except for some reason, the back spacer wasn't blue?!?

It looks like this today...actually, right now!

I am actually very surprised on how the SW on the handle has held up...

Yup. I noticed how yours looks the last time I saw photos. Yours is not far off. I have to say. Blue is my favorite color and I really love " electric blue" the way the bar comes. But I am a bigger fan of the worn in look you get after a while of carry.
I actually plan on sending my knife in for an additional blade someday. I may ask for a custom bar job. You never know. And its not that I will need the blade for years or ever really. But I'd like to have a spare blade and lock bar, washers and screws. Just because. For $150 for all those parts. Its worth it. May not even happen for a long time. I really can't stand the idea of sending it out. So who really knows?

Really warm and cool looking blade and sheath. Shows a lot of "soul". What I especially like is that I can see the loss of belly due to you sharpening the blade. That is the true sign of a "user". There's lots of people who claim to use their knives, this knife of yours needs no such introduction as it is plain to see that you use the heck outta it. Great thread!

Great point on the blade. I had to go back and look again at the photos. Didn't catch that the first time.

I also love to see these knives being put to use.
