So yesterday was glue-up day for almost all of the "dibs" knives from this batch. Everything was going nice and smooth, moving quickly. Then, when I was almost done clamping them up, I realized that I completely forgot to finish-sand the tops of the scales. Needless to say, Mr. Hyde came out. I tried my best to control my anger and not have an outburst. I was doing really well up until Andy said, "what's wrong?" Then, I went crazy. Sorry broski. Anyways, here's a picture of the tragic results. All of the blades are fine, but I had to destroy the handles to get the scales off. No shortage of wasted money there and probably a nice two day setback. I'd hoped to have all of this batch done by the end of this week. Not likely anymore. Sorry guys.

Sorry For that man. on the other hand you might have the most beautiful "vase" I have ever seen in that picture. DO you think if you add water they might grow? Probably just rust.

Right now they're sitting in acetone to melt the epoxy off.

Damn bro. Sorry to hear about it. If I were anywhere around GA, I'd come over and give you a hand. I'd walk away much smarter I'm sure.

Dylan that sucks. I think I have that same anger streak though and it sucks if the wrong person is on the wrong end of that mess.

Darn. Now you'll have to buy Andy roses ... maybe treat him to a nice dinner downtown ...:o;)

I hate it when that happens.

YESSIR,that top pic is a bummer.........

BUT!

The bottom is wayyyyy better.
Is that my nat canvas in that pic???
Fingers crossed...lolol

and just like that back on track. I think of it like this, if you didn't screw up from time to time there would be no stories to tell. "well everything went perfectly always" is a boring story.

Man, what a noobie mistake. Next time, get your epoxy real hot before glue up, it works great that way. ;)

Man, I wish I could see you guys and your tables at Blade. Give a nut, I would.
