In response to Gary Moore's excellent article in Knife World, I thought it might interest my fellow BFers, and help me with dating info on my somewhat relic-y old Case HJs if I posted them here. So my (often asked) question is; when were they made?? The article gives some ideas, but I'm not clear on interpreting it. Any help is appreciated.
Respectfully submitted,
Charlie C.

Top one was made 1920-1940
Next was used until 1920
Next was used until 1915
The last one has to be between 1896-1915, the Case Bros. Era. E-mail Shirley Boser at Case, maybe she can pin point that last one. She is always glad to help! I am sorry i don't know the exact year, but maybe I was of some help. Good lookin' set of knives.

Hi Charlie, I replied to a few post over the last couple of days, other than that I haven't been here for a very long time. I am working under an old user name that I'm trying to get changed to my more known name(Blade Runner). Thanks for the compliment on my article, I enjoyed yours as well. I will give my opinions as to the ages of your knives based on what I have found to be popular belief. Others may have different ideas and as always I respect their right to do so. Fair Winds and God Bless My Friend!

Gary and Shane, thank you for helping me narrow down the dates on these knives! It's nice to gather up the story of a knife, however incomplete. It is the essence of knife collecting, more than owning mint examples of absolutely everything! The story is the fun.

By the way, I like blade runner better! Good luck with that, Gary!

waynorth,
some very nice specimens of some extemely old and well preserved harness jack patterns which makes them that much more special. thanks for sharing this treat.

enjoy~
