Though I've handled Grohmann's #1 knife and was impressed, I was never impressed enough to bite the bullet and buy one. Just too large for my needs. Well yesterday, I handled Grohmann's D.H. Russell #2 Trout & Bird, and knew I'd walk away with it if the price was right. The price was right, actually very right, as the knife really didn't fit in with what the seller had. For him it was an odd duck he picked up in an estate sale lot. Never carried, sharpened, or used.
Believe it or not, this is a large knife for me and my uses. About as large as I really need. But this certainly seems to be a very handy knife. The ergonomics are just excellent. As good as all the hype I've read. Looking forward to using it as I'm sure my first impression of it will be a lasting one. Don't like dangling sheaths, but this will likely ride in my pack or pocket.
I'm surprised there isn't more of a Grohmann/D.H Russell following on BF.
