Yes, I did search, but I didn't find anything that specifically answers this question. I don't want to argue the merits, or lack thereof, of 420J2, I just noticed something the other night that got me to wondering. A.G. Russell's steel guide (and an online article I ran across) lists this steel as .15 carbon, while several other sites (such as a couple of steel manufacturers and Buck's site) list it as anywhere from .30-.45 carbon. Which is it?
