Yet another Gift Knife.. thoughts?

Yes, yet another gift knife looking to get for a friend.

Another friend of mine has been heavily hinting at me for a new folder folder. So being the knife guy I have come down to these 2. i have never owned these particular knives but have had others from the makers.
what are ya'lls experiences with these 2, or just opinions?

1) Mcusta kusami Steel:VG-10 core forged with 33 layered nickel Damascus

2) Lion Steel mini Steel: D2 tool steel

I know im comparing apples to oranges here, but still any thoughts are helpful! And yes, the photos are not mine

The mcusta is a nice affordable option. Bad news for you, it could be a gateway to crk or william henry for your friend. Those kind of hint bombs would be unfortunate in the future.

haha, ya they are. know from personal collection... I baby stepped him through most his knife purchases.
when i first met him, he refused to carry a knife of any sort, first knife decent knife... CRKT ashwood turtle as a money clip, his choice not mine
I was thinking of these 2 because they aren't that well known in the non-knife nut world & hoping it will get him to be able to buy with confidence haha, Or give him his grail

I dont think he knows who and what WH & CRK are
