Yet another "Is my PM2 real" thread.

I'm new to the knife world and I ordered a few Spyderco knives off Amazon before realizing how prevalent the fakes are and how hard it is to tell them apart. Never again from Amazon.

In the mean time I need to decide what to do with this one. I've watched every video I can find on fakes and my knife looks good except 3 things:

  1. There was no letter in the box (but I've read others didn't get the letter)
  2. The bars on the barcode don't go down to the numbers. (but I found a thread saying someone else's didn't either)
  3. The jimping doesn't seem quite as angled as some others, although it is somewhat angled and prevents thumb slippage incredibly well (pics in link below)

Clues that suggest it is real include:

  1. The edges of the G10 aren't rounded
  2. The lanyard hold is chamfered
  3. The liner has 2 cutouts on the clip side
  4. The lock cutout is smooth
  5. The lock lever looks angled correctly
  6. The G10 seems rough (although have nothing to compare it to)
  7. The blade cuts seem precise and sharp

Does anyone believe this could be fake?

Looks good to me also.......looks like you got lucky Matt!! In the future.......reputable dealers ONLY!! We have a bunch of em right here!

Thanks everyone.

For what it's worth, I love the paramilitary 2! It's much lighter and more ergonomic than I expected after looking at pictures and videos - it feels just great in my hand and carries smaller than it is. I'm thinking of buying a blurple one just to try s110v steel... or since I already have a PM2, maybe a Manix 2 and/or Native 5.

I also bought:

Kershaw Leek (Composite blackwash): I'm not digging it at all. I don't like the assisted opening and the blade is so narrow and long. I thought it would be good at opening envelopes but I don't even like it for that. I'm going to see if I can return it.

Cold Steel Tuff Lite: I kind of like it! It's like a $23 box cutter. It's designed to make it very comfortable to put pressure on the tip.... like a box cutter!

I'm in no way an expert, but I have studied a lot of fake PM 2 knives. I think you have a genuine knife. True, the bar code is a little different, but the knife looks legit. After all, that's what matters!
