The Paratraxx looks a bit like some recent movie knives. Look for it at your local flea market.

Steel is 420 (J?); and it looks like they went whaky with a grinder and even sharpened the spine. Then again, I am sure that sharp is a term that should never be used in relation to this knife.

they decided to ripoff 2 makers in one go, Dave Beck/Tom Brown/TOPs (I'm not getting into that argument) with the tracker and they also ripped off Rob Simonich's Parasite idea.

"AXTION BLADEZ CONCEPTZ", "PARATRAXX" (Parasite + Tracker?). It sounds pretty reatarded. If you look at the website the retail price is $74.95, and they claim they are all original designs.

The idea of a small knife inside the handle of the larger knife did NOT originate with the parasite .I have a small fixed blade skinner with a bird/trout knife in the handle in the same maner as the parasite , only I bought this knife in the mid 80's . I don't have the knife with me , so I can't tell you who made it right now , but when I get home tonight I'll post with name of knife and maker .

Or just "pileacrap"

I just don't understand why this happens - in the world of unforgiven lawsuits, this crap still ensues.

I think Hendrickson (sp) made what he called the Kangaroo knife back in the 80's. We do it a little different but the concept is the same. There are much older knives of the same concept as well, my Parasite is nothing new nor have I ever claimed it to be. I did trademark the name however. My Parasite will be coming out in a mid-Tech version.

Nothing is sacred. Sure, there are only so many ways you can take a sharp, pointy thing and make a different shape on it. But to take several different, quite recognizable features, (perhaps from different sources, nonetheless) and then put them together and to say "WE DESIGNED IT OURSELVES" is about the worst thing.

"Parasite" design ?The company should just call itself "Parasite". Thats about as much as they could do to honour the original designs and ideas that have gone into what they've blatantly ripped off.

:grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: Jason.

In my spare time I do some copy writing for website catalogs. Among those in the know, I have quite a reputaation so when Axtion Bladez contacted me to write the copy for their website, I had a few fresh and new ideas but alas, it was just too high concept for them. Actually they broke off negotiations when they heard my ideas for what to call it. *The Backdoor Wh*re*, "Deliverance", "Preparation K". I guess I'm a little ahead of my time.
:p
