Just received MY M4 Military today!

MAN OH MAN is this blade sexy!
The Ti/G10 scales are so flush and overall just looks SLICK!

Out of Box Impressions: :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Pros:
-Grip of G10 is great!
-Ti is slick, but in a way I dig [easy to take in and out of pocket]
-Scales complement Beautifully!
-Lock Bar is easy to disengage
-Weight is great given the materials
-M4!
-Blade is DEAD center!
-Flicks open quick and with authority
-Contoured Handles Feel Great!

Cons[Nit Picky More Like it]:
-Slight grittiness when opening and closing, but sure will work out in no time.
-The SS Insert is well hidden, but somewhat of an eye sore.
-Only set up for tip down right side [expected]

For the price I think this blade is an absolute STEAL given the materials and design!

Overall I am loving my initial impressions of this blade!
Now the harder part is if I can keep it from becoming a safe queen. I wish they made more of these.

The high demand definitely gives some leeway for trades and cash.

EvilBay has seen a handful of these go for over $300 easy.
Spyderco needs some more supply! :D

That is pretty much my thoughts on this knife as far as the pros go. I don't mind the tip down carry, but mine was gritty out of the box also.

LOL, $300 isn't really $300. The seller has to fork over 10% of that to ebay and the paypal fees.
So, net of $40? for $220 investment over a years time. I can think of more profitable ways to spend that $ for investment purposes.

That doesn't mean people wouldn't pay $300 (obviously) for the knife. Just most buyers(that have $)don't care and understand the vig ebay grabs.
Would be nice to see another batch. I'm quite certain they'll go fast.

Funny thing is. Those few knives you see being sold aren't up for sale for profit.

It's because the knife just isn't worth keeping for some folks...

...Fit, finish, craftmanship, etc...could be better on some that went out the door, from what I heard/read.

Overall, nice design (HELLO...it's a damn military) that you can't go wrong with. I would buy one for $200 when/if spydie has another run on them.

@op just fyi: the first one sold as BIN(buy it now) was a #'d one,(#23) and fetched $330. Others sold were 260, 280, bin 275, 305 respectfully.

Don't worry Spyderco is taking notes and counting the $'s they will make on the next batch.

I didn't buy this knife with the attention of selling it, but it's nice to know you can easily get your money back and a little more if one decides to sell it.

For the price I think the knife meets what's expected except for the semi rough opening/closing.

Not to start a Company battle, but other companies offer essentially the same materials with s30v and charge 2-2.5x the price.

Mine was a bit gritty or scratchy at first too, same with my other millies, but they have all since smoothed out, M4 included. actually, the M4 smoothed out quicker than I expected!

Same experience here; after 50 or so opening/closing, the action is now pretty smooth

i found all mine needed was some lube and to work it in a little. now it's very smooth and the lockup is very strong. when it comes to the new locking system we will see how it holds up to wear. but when that lock engages it can def feel it's a solid lockup. def stronger then a liner lock
