i have had this metal for quite some time now and made some blades from it; i was told it was 440c but have been doublful for a few reasons.
1. it is nonmagnetic at all times.
2. i have left it out in the weather a few years and it has never rusted not even the slightest bit.
3. it is tough to cut even after annealing or tempering what ever term you prefer.
4. i have had to use a hand grinder to cut most of my blades out of it and it gets supper hard to manipulate after work hardenning.
the use it was for was some kind of water storage system for the machining industry.
i am wondering if anyone has any ideas what this metal might be.
there is not any place around here i know of that i can get it tested to see what it is.
