I like having a trainer available. With that double edge, you might want to work with a trainer first.

DAMN! That's wicked!

Wicked is a good word to describe this puppy though. Like something out of a Freddy Krueger movie.

Dr. Lathe, that is nice. Oh well, I guess 1 more knife won't hurt. LOL

Hey Dr. (Neil, that is), could you post some details on that knife? It is truly ... intriguing...

Rockspyder,
The Hawkbill is made from cryo treated, triple tempered D2, 1/8 thick. The overall length of the knife is 7 1/2" with a 3 1/2" blade. As it is intended for slashing only, it has no forward guard. I put as much "reverse" blade retention in the handle as possible to keep it in hand no matter what the blade encounters. I grind it on a 6" dia contact wheel to keep as much material in the point area as possible for strength. Under the G10 scales are 4 large holes to reduce weight.
The knife in the picture was used to "attack" an old, heavy canvas punching bag, a pile of old Gymnastic mats and a 3D archery target. The results to the various test media were DEVASTATING!
The bead blasted, G10 version in the picture is $185 with a Kydex neck sheath.
I have to come up with a name for this knife!
Freddy's Finger??

Bob,
Raptor would fit the knife, but... There must be at least 6 other knives by that name already though! I think there is a Hibden knife by that name. Several POS cheapies and a very beutiful custom in the December Blade issue by Steven Rapp (Rapp'tor).
I hoping that as I'm working on them a name will come to mind. So far I've called them an SOB a few times, That could be it!

Guys,
So far these have been a hot item! If I had one left that was finished, I would do a name the knife contest. At this time, It would be well over a month before I could deliver another one!
I would hate to say OK, you won the kife, now your on my list!
A fellow at work thought a good name would be Shrapnel! Blackwood Shrapnel....I dont know about that

StJames, I like Scathe, reminds me of my ex-wife! Here toungue is probably as sharp as the knife is

Thanks for the ideas,
Neil

Sorry for suggesting an already used name.

There's a bunch of good names already used.

How about Reaver or Ripper?

I do like those RRRRs!

Neil, feel free to use it, no charge. I get a thrill from having someone use a name I suggest.

Hey Bob, how about The Reaper?

I vote for either the Reaper (although how would I explain THAT to the nice officer

), or the Scythe. At least Scythe is the name of a tool. Although, maybe reaper is, too.....
