well I have always tried to collect knives and I was thinking of a gift for my dads 67th b-day and thought how cool it would be if i could make him a hunting knife! then after some research I decided that this would definatly be a hobby I wanted to pursue so i baught Wayne Goddard's 50 knife shop book and then found this website!
Now a week later I decided to go witih the stock removale method. I found a spare edger blade layin around its about 6" long by 1 1/2" wide and an 8th inch thick. I scribbed a simple design and today i cut out the shape with a hack saw and dremmel tool. I was originally goin to go with a cord wrap handle but after cutting out the knife i think it will look better with a nice wood handle. and tomorrow i am goin to start the file process. I am 25 and just out of college and just married so i am tryin to do this the cheapest way and this website has helped sooo much!!!
anyway sorry for long a$$ thread! i just wanted to get that story out there i guess. Thanx and i will post pics when she's all done!
