yet another please help sharpening

I have the new umnum and I guess it comes with the same edge as a sebenza. It has a OK edge on it, but I would like it more sharp. Chris Reeve suggests 20 degree which I believe is the 40 side on the spyderco sharpmaker right? Well I've been running it through the sharpmaker on the 40 side and Im not getting a noticeable difference. Any suggestions? Should I got over to the 30 side? or do I need to have the edge re-profiled by a different sharpening system?

take a permanent marker and paint both sides of the edge, the make a few passes on your sharpmaker and you will see if the angle is correct.
 
I just sharpened my Sebbie tonight......I love the sharpmaker, but to put an edge that will pop hair, I start with the Lansky at 20 or 17 degrees. when it needs a touch up, I'll use the Sharpmaker, but every so often, I must use the Lansky to set the base.
 
Factory comes at around 17 per side. If you want it sharper, run it through the Sharpmaker at 30. Done.
 
40 total angle is far too much .30 is much better.20 is too thin.
