Not even trying with this one. Serrations on the blade and a wimpy liner lock.

I'm on mobile, so I can't flag/report it, but I figured someone here can notify the proper authorities.

He has it listed as a clone. So there is nothing any proper authority could do. I certainly do not support the selling of clone knives but if someone wants to buy one being fully aware of what it is then to each his own. If he was trying to pass it off as an authentic Spyderco then it would be a different situation.

"This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."

Why on Earth would you post the link to that auction?!

It's bad enough these are out there without you giving them free advertising here!

I don't think "flagging" clones on this forum is a bad idea. A lot of knife newbs start their collecting journey by visiting the forums first. It's good in its way for them to know this trash is out there on the 'bay, and not to be fooled, and maybe end up put off by what they think is a poor quality product from Spyderco. It's a friendly heads-up to people getting into the hobby and will steer them towards supporting legit dealers. Just my thoughts. I don't think anyone visiting here is going to buy that knife due to free advertising.

I really doubt that any traffic that auction gets from this link will result in bids. I think it's good to get this out there for people to watch out for. I know I've avoided fakes due to such information being posted on this forum and others.

Also, selling counterfeit items is against ebay policy even if they are labeled as such. If you use the report feature, one of the reasons is "authenticity disclaimer" meaning that the seller has said it was not an authentic item. Now, whether or not they actually do anything about it is anyone's guess.

I stand corrected. I thought they were allowed to sell knock offs as long as they were labeled as such. Sorry for the misinformation.

You guys realize you can buy every model of spyderco counterfeit on Ali express. They even use counterfeit spyderco boxes. Its not illegal to purchase them or sell them as long as you don't pass them off as authentic. In our country what Ali express is doing would be illegal but that is foreign policy. Illegal here in the states, Not illegal in another country where we have no jurisdiction.

Spyderco knows its a problem as they even addressed the issue on their site.

And trust me some of these counterfeits you buy the designer of the knife wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the real and the fake. It is starting to tarnish their name. They became such a high standard in the knife industry that they get the most counterfeits of their products.

You can easily have gotten a fake one and still get it checked out and still pass it along as its the real deal.

The only safe way is to buy from "AUTHORIZED" spyderco dealers.

I don't know why anyone would buy a Spyderco (or any knife) from any site other than from one that is a legit authorized dealer. Why risk it ? To those who opt to gamble on whether or not it's the real deal from an unauthorized seller I say good luck. As long as it says "Knock Off" or something to inform you that the knife is not genuine then you SHOULD be ok. But you should know better at this point. Buyer beware.
