Ok, so I finally pulled the trigger on a BK9 after lots of research, watching reviews and recommendations. I decided to go with the "King" over the Esee Junglas, Ontario SP-50 and a RTAK-2, so thank you everyone who showed me the way lol. Should be in tomorrow and then the mod brain cells will kick in! But now I feel that I would like to purchase a good 4-5" blade for small tasks around the camp, some options I've been looking at are the Esee 4,ESEE 3, BK16, Swamp Rat Rodent Solution, Swamp Rat RATMANDU CG, SYKCO 411, But I am very open to options, these are just the ones that i've been looking at. Now I have zero experience with any of these knives, I'm a huge fan of the Becker Blades they just seem to suit me for what I do and the price point is killer on them, just starting to get curious about some other makes... would love any advice or other suggestions. Thanks again to all the awesome BF Members for your time and thoughts!

There's nothing wrong with Beckers or ESEE, but I can't recommend a Ratmandu enough. It's a good size, feels great in hand, and made of awesome steel that won't let you down.

You mentioned some good knives, any of those would work well. I'll add the Falkniven F1; Bark River Bravo 1, Fox River or Canadian Special; or the Spyderco Temperance 2.

Don't let the convex grind used by Fallkniven and Bark River scare you away, they are excellent tools and learning how to sharpen them is super easy.

I was going to say Ratmandu also. Since you have the BK9 on the way, you might like the BK16, or 17 depending on your blade preference.

Thanks guys, I'm really leaning on a Ratmandu, they look great and would fit well with my hiking, and would be great to bring with the BK9 for the smaller tasks. Thanks again.
