Ok so I got a Mini Comander on the way (can't wait!), am ordering a CQC 8 this week, and I STILL want a Sheepdog! The only thing that is preventing me from ordering the 8 and the Sheepdog together is I'm torn up about which blade style to choose, the Bowie or Spearpoint. Any pros or cons to either, or which one do u guys prefer and why? Thx!

I just love the looks of the Bowie blade.

I would get the bowie. That and the clip point have great utility oriented tips.
For me anyway.
Or wait until you get the first few you ordered to get a feel for them.
I just wish there were fewer logos on the blade.

We are talking about knives right? Ha. Anyway. This is my one problem I have with Emerson. So many awesome designs, so hard to choose.

Actually, I kind of thought about that too with the logos. It would be nice if they had the Sheepdog logos on the other side to balance it out. It's a great knife, wherever the logos are. The smoothest flipper I have!

I had a poll on this before I got mine, I went with the satin PE bowie...I'm definitely happy with it, but I do kind of feel that the spear point is a bit more robust of the two since it has more steel to it. Also, they call it a spear point but personally I see it as more of a drop point.

Either way, the SheepDog is a great choice, it flips very fast and smoothly on the bearings and carries quite well despite it's size and weight. Now I just hope for a Super SheepDog to come out one day, say maybe 4"?

That's a tough choice. I have both and would say the Bowie seems to be the most versatile. The sharp tip can fit in tight spaces like cutting zip ties unlike the spear point. The spear point is less "deadly" looking when using it at work though

I like the Bowie blade, but maybe that's 'cause thats the one I have. I guess either would be good, but the Bowie may have better piercing ability if thats a concern.
