Yet another "& Such" project...

Through a strange series of events, I've found myself with a toaster oven, molding press, eyelet press,
and bits of Kydex and Concealex(?), etc. ...

Couple that with a recently aquired and somewhat refurbished riding lawnmower, and expanding
field with blackberry vines everywhere  ...

... and what followed was probably inevitable: The dreaded "First Project!"

Bolt the silly thing to the hood, along with a chopper and some loppers and I no longer have to take those
blackberry thorns whipping across my face as I motor madly about :D !!

Ok, ok; I probably need to be stopped :o

Comments? Questions?
Cries of outrage?!!

Cheers,

What kind of turn around time if I send you my mower :p

Great ideal, love it.

Thanks for sharing

holy crap! push that baby down into rabbit speed and your ready for the zombie hoards! but the lawn should suffice till then! that is sweet!-CB

Oh, and;
The FIQ (Field in Question):

Meadow-7-08.jpg

Started out with a narrow strip of grass down about the center 1/3... mostly blackberries to the west (right), and
scotchbroom w/blackberries to the east (left) !!

Oregon to the south, across the Columbia River Gorge.

Need a nap  ...

When the grass is tough, when does the Busse come in?
Before or after the yellow bolt cutter? :)

Nice work btw!

Thats pretty dang cool! Sort of a Mad Max/Road warrior kind of mower. John Deere mowers rule!

A custom kydex holster for pruning shears bolted to a lawnmower is just so... BF . Absolutely absurd and yet strangely utilitarian :D. Flame decals for extra speed next?

Awesome!!!

I am also in the legion of JD mower operators (LT265). I carry my Ontario 18" machete in a cardboard-and-duct-tape sheath balanced on the running board and held in place with my left foot. I always fantasize about having a nice hood-mounted tooled green and yellow leather scabbord for it.....

You not only beat me to the punch, but turned your mean green Deere into a "Swiss Army mower" of sorts with your custom sheath work.

I am VERY impressed. And green with envy. Yuk, yuk, yuk! :p

Nice work. If the neighbors start poking fun at you, a nice scabbord for a shorty Mossberg 590 should be your next project.

Good mowing,
desmobob

BTW: nice view from your yard!

Chuck,

I'm thinking you might be a poser JD mower owner. All real Deere mower guys know that down is for "turtle." Up is for "rabbit."

If his lawn is bumpy, rabbit might cause the unplanned ejection of tools. On the other hand, if he has mad Kydex skillz, no problemmo.

Stay sharp,
desmobob
