Hi guys. You probably don't remeber me, but I hung around for awhile a few months ago, and I've since been absent. But Im back, and this time with a question. ^__^

What is with the Cuda Maxx's handle? Does it change color or something? Im just curious, as I am about to purchase one. Thanks guys!

Nope, it doesn't change color. It's just anodized Ti. What you are seeing is just different shading from one knife to the next. The coloring stays fairly consistent but, there are variations. Unless, Camillus has come up with someway of doing the color changing thing!?!?!? :p :D

i don't think it changes colour, i've never owned one, but i know BOK has one, or had one...

was it Titanium? i actually should've asked him

anyway, pm BOK if you want to, he would know

Well it doesn't actually change color but it appears to as the light changes and the handles angle changes in relation to the source of light. Mine is kinda a blue/gray anodized and it looks more gray when not in direct light and more blue when it is in direct light.

While I'm talking about my Maxx I should pass on one little change that I made that is really functional. On the part of the blade that you press on to flick the blade out I used my Dremel tool to put some serrations on it. Now it gives a better purchase for my finger especially when the knife or my hand is wet. It also serves to index the knife correctly for opening in the dark or without looking at it.

I noticed that KnifeWorks has dropped the price on the non-serrated model to $130.

Im going to get mine from 1sks to support the forums as always. :)

And I like how the handle has a bluish/purple tint to it...and I was kinda hoping that it would change color depending on the light. (loosely using the word "change")

the best way to make a cammilus maxx look "cool" imho is to put windex on the handle(spray windex on rag, apply, let dry and lightly buff w/a clean rag, thats it), it reacts w/the anodising and makes it more of a royal blue w/red in it, looks much better imho.

and yes, this does work, i think CRK folks figured this out.
