Yup, more of the same, but I'm running out of ideas and I certainly don't want my knife habit to end. ;) I'm looking for a gents knife (read "pocket jewelry that has utility"), 3" or shorter blade, has to have a clip, lighter (i.e., less weight) is better - on the order of 2.5 oz or less, thumbstud or equivalent opening device. I've already been through a spate of WH and CRK knives, although I'm not opposed to getting more of these. I don't like the look of Spydercos for gents knifes. I have $550-$600 to spend. Your thoughts and suggestions?

Take a look at the Buck Mayo CF TNT. Seen one in person and it's beautiful. The benchmade Gold line has some Pimped out work horses as well. Talk with some of the makers in the Maker sub forum...:)

How about a Jeremy Krammes Short Cut? It is a terrific little knife. On Jeremy's page, the one with silver twill & purple anodizing is mine. Or how about a nice slip joint? Perhaps a little some thing from Mike Alsdorf?

Kershaw Nakamura. About $100 in a very traditional style but I'm not sure about blade length as far as suiting your tastes. I think it's bigger than you wanted.

How about something from GTC knives? Perhaps Yuna? Or a slippie from Bill Vining?

For that kind of budget you should consider mainly customs in my opinion.
This is a very special one, here in Belgium we have Eric Parmentier, one of the most famous custom makers in Europe. Very refined designs. This one should soon see the light, the Diplomat. It's indeed the kind of sophisticated knife you expect Obama to wear. I will probably order it.

From what I read I think it's a special kind of slipjoint: you can order a version with a "secret lock" that works if you switch the location of two of the small extra tools.
