Yangdu Karda Special (Every Day Carry)

A while back (boy...this is getting repetitive...all my knife threads seem to start with a time disclaimer...:o)

Anyway, a while back Yangdu sent me a lil-karda-in-a-lil-pouch that she wanted modified to have a desert ironwood handle. After looking at it for a while (seem to do a lot of this...) I wondered if the work put into modifying it might end up crossing the "line of diminishing returns". Yet, I knew she wanted something that would fit in the pouch. So I set out to design a lil karda of my own that would do just that.

Well, enough chatter, pics seem to speak for themselves...

Here it is:

YKS
O-1 tool steel (5/32" thick)
Hollow ground (for better cutting)
Desert Ironwood
Brass pin & corby bolt
Kydex sheath (but fits in the leather sheath too)

Yangdu - hope you like it...and thank you for letting me make it's debut public.

Respectfully: please no requests for copies at this time.

wow!!! very nice work there dan... *drool*
will these be available to the public *wink wink* :D
keep up the good work... thanks for sharing the pics

Very nice Dan. I have a small pukko in place of my karda, but I think it wouldn't take much arm twisting to replace it with one of these.

Dan, you're lucky that you put that disclaimer on the bottom, as I have an email AND prepay paypal ready to go! :D That is beautiful work. Just the thing to complement the ironwood AK bowie and CAK you did for me a while back. ;) Is that about a 2.5" blade?

Thanks for sharing.

Very cool Dan. I think when you are ready to tackle making a bunch, you will find a large market for this design.

Nope...modification of an HI product is perfectly at home here.

Now...about your comment about no copies...might *have* to ban you for that!

Wow. Those are beautiful Dan. Great work!

 Your work keeps getting better Dan. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
