hi all,

Grippy handle?

Does the carbon fiber, 20cv version of the Yojimbo 2 have a grippy or smooth texture? I have a peel ply carbon fiber military/s90v and it is not as grippy as g10....is this Yojimbo 2 in CF the same deal in terms of not being very grippy?

How would you compare to G10?

After searching I can’t find a good explanation...

Thanks in advance.

I own both the DLT CF 20CV version and the standard G10 S30V.

The CF is smooth. The texture is similar to the smooth CF on the Shaman Sprint CF S90V. Also comparable to the texture of stonewashed or bead blasted titanium scales found on Hinderer and ZT knives, and on the aluminum scales on Benchmade knives.

The G10 scales of the Yojimbo 2 has the standard texture which is definitely more grippy in comparison.

I had the 20cv carbon fiber Yojimbo and I sold it because it was way too smooth. It was a beautiful knife but it did not function well in my opinion. Also, the blade was ground way too thin at the tip. I imagine it was a great slicer but those two negatives were enough for me to get rid of it. If they made some modifications to the design like a full flat ground blade and grippy scales I would buy it. Hope that helps.

It's smooth carbon fiber. It feels good. I think you'd have to be really hurt or something to drop this knife due to the smooth handles. I own the 20CV and the S30 version with rougher G10 scales and I prefer the smooth carbon fiber scales. They also look cool.

I find them smooth to the point of being slick. I put a few gear grip hexagons on it to help me withdraw from pocket.
