I actually like this blade shape better. Matches the scales when closed, and looks great open too. Good job

@2000 w/d grit, beginning of a dirty mirror finish:

Added chamfer at the first bump, final mirror polish to remove imperfections and sharpen:

During the process, had the blade disassembled, pivot hole at the lock bar side had a significant circumferential bur. Realized that was the cause for the off center, favored lock bar side condition. I was very surprised, since Yojimbo was a limited production Sprint Run. Took care of that, as well as smoothed out the compression lock bar mating surface.

Next project will be the Insingo, will have the same mirror polish on blade. Looking at the pic, something is just not right without the mirror polish, right?:

@victorf what did you use to shape the blade in the first three photos? A Dremel or some other tool?

Carl

Dude that is amazing. You upped the aesthetics on that knife 1000%! It looks so mean I love it.

Thank you all!

I used carbide bur with my Foredom Flexshaft running @ 15000 RPM. Had the knife in a vise, so it was a very controllable and precise stock removal.

Diamond Jeweler's File was used on the chamfer then smoothed over with diamond hone.

Hi! I have not found than this version differs from the ordinary of S30V and the G-10 on the handle. So he took the most common. It cost me half the price. I'm pleased.

Update added a secondary chamfer to create an optical illusion of a slimmer profile under certain reflection:

While enjoying cup of Cold Blew this am and toying with my Yojimbo. Reminiscing yesterday's heavy traffic on one of my favorite twisty:

The shinny pocket clip was sort of standing out from the flat carbon fiber slab finish and distracting the mirror'ed blade. Decided right there and this is the result in taking care of that itch:

Aloha!

Probably want to update the correct "Yojimbo" spelling on this thread as well. Just a heads up...

Is your hood popped up to support the knife in the second pic, or is the latch not adjusted down far enough for the panel gap to be flush?

Mahalo on the mental block - done!

Hood gap is intentionally done! Reaping the benefit to aid engine heat a natural escape path with our - no end in sight - snail pace Paradise traffic:

You have consistently proven to have a keen eye for detail, very admirable!

Your helps in correcting my frequent brain farts are appreciated! :)

Aloha!

Haha no worries.
Thanks. And yeah, now I completely see what you were going for by raising the hood for heat extraction. Can definitely be tough on a car when you can't get moving fast enough in traffic to cool it down properly!

The S30V Yojimbo 2 is back in stock at KW!

Didn't know where else to put this, hope you don't mind in your thread.....
