I have used my Yojimbo for average EDC tasks and some food prep. It works well. The thick blade stock and grind make it less efficient for some tasks but the blade shape makes it great for others. It depends on how deep you bury the blade and how rigid or firm the material is. It is amazingly efficient at some tasks and less so at others. It is certainly capable of more than most people think it is.
