Purchased the Yojimbo. Loosened the pivot screw to make opening a bit easier.
The lock however is impossibly hard to operate. My index finger is incredibly inflamed, and blistered. Is there any simple way to alter the tightness of it. Or the sharpness of it?

Thanks,
richard

My index finger is incredibly inflamed, and blistered.

I'll throw out two ideas. :)

If you're opening/closing it obsessively (which I do when a knife is new!), that's inevitable. I've never bought a knife that couldn't make my finger/thumb sore after a couple days of constant fidgeting.

Not knowing your experience level with compression locks or knives in general, it could also be down to the way you're actuating the lock. For example, using just the flesh of the pad of your finger will make that finger sore more quickly, because it's sensitive. Using the tip and coming at it from a different angle can alleviate that.

i've only bought 3 emerson before. easier bottom lock, smooth, not sharp. you open with thumb. i like the spyderco but very tight, hard to open and edge of locking mechanism sharp.

Play with it some more. You'll develop a callus and the knife will break in more and you should be fine. My shaman is much stiffer than my Pm2s and para 3s, but after a few days it was all good.

I would think any small file or stone would do the job but finishing w/a ceramic stone would make it smoother.
