Hey steve,

Just wondering if you have ever done a clip for a spyderco yojimbo. It wouldnt have to be necessarily no show like alot of the ones you do, just a bit lower then what it is right now, and shorter, its so long Im not sure why. I just got a blue one and Im not really digging this clip, its very long and quite a bit sticks out of pocket while carrying. anything you have done or may be able to do? Im not sure right now how Ill go about handling this but I thought I'd ask here first! :)

thanks!

Never had any luck coming up with one for that particular clip design my friend. Sorry. Thanks for asking though.

What if you just used the 1 screw hole nearest to the lanyard hole, then had a bit of the clip go into the lanyard hole to prevent it from moving around? Kind of like the Mnandi and some Striders do with small holes in the scale.

Alternatively, using just 2 screw holes (1 closest to lanyard hole then another) and having the clip fold over thin and at an angle over the lone empty screw hole.

Of course, I've no idea whether those are feasible from a maker's point of view, but in theory those methods might work.

I've tried that and just didn't have the means to make an exacting template to copy repeatedly. Sorry.

I've often wondered about this as well for the Yojimbo specifically. How about a clip that screws on the opposite side and simply comes up and bends over the butt of the handle and down the other side? Similar to the ZT 0500 Mudd if that makes any sense. Might get hung up a bit in the pocket but it probably wouldn't be as bad as the ZT since the end is more rounded and the scales aren't as rough. And the clip could stay fairly wide and beefy if desired. Just brainstorming a bit.

Sorry. Just too much design and titanium and I imagine waste of titanium scrap too. Besides that right now I'm not in any shape to be messing with it. I've looked that folder over when they were sent to me some and still being made. Just no real convenient easy to reproduce way to do one for that model. Sorry.

One of the things I look at when I'm examining a folder for a low rider is whether or not I want to do them because more than likely if I do one more will requests will follow and to honest with you this is not one I'd want to tackle a lot. The Yojimbo is one that has several areas making it very challenging including the positioning of the holes in the existing clip and the fact that a low rider would surly block the lanyard hole. All which make for just too many hurdles to get over to make it work.
