hi there!

i have been thinking about buying a yoshihara blade for quite a long time. now, there are two small pretty knives for sale on bladegallery, both US$ 2300 (not the bigger ones...). what do you think? are they worth the money? which hamon would you prefer?

thanks a lot!

I would have to say they are probably worth the money. Any maker from the Art Knife Invt. has gotta be a good investment.Mr. Yoshiharas work is fantastic. I prefer the double edged tanto at $9000. If i had the disposable income i would not hesitate to buy that one.

IMHO they are worth whatever you want to spend for them. However, keep in mind that they are those small knives that fit in the side of a scabbard. Granted, those are oversized, but they still:

1 - are not considered a Jpz sword from a legal standpoint in Jp. That has significant implications in terms of value.
2 - are only polished on one side, so you miss a big piece of the picture.

I think they are worth the money and either one would be fine. However, the double edged tantos are outstanding: that's my weakness :)
Although I think they're worth the money, they are a bit too expensive when a dressed Howard Clark or other great smith is in the same neighbourhood. Still, a Yoshindo blade is really special and if you've been eyeing his work for a while, you'll love the blade that appeals to you. Really love it. That would make it worth the money most of all.
I can't see the nie well in those pictures, but they still make me salivate.
