One bad-ass Soldier!

I'd have no qualms surviving out in the boonies or more remote sticks with "just a pocket knife" be it a slipjoint or friction folder. Admittedly It'd be nice to have at least my CS Big Bore blowgun (and some darts, even if only the bamboo darts) or a good slingshot for small game along as well. 🙂👍

Wasn't there a guy that got his arm stuck between two rocks while out hiking, and amputated his own arm with his pocket knife to escape? Workin' off of an old man's memory here.... guess I could goober it....
That rings a bell, also an old timer in Canada who was stuck in a tractor or other piece of farm equipment and had to free himself.

The movie about it is “127 Hours” starring James Franco

I'm not at all confident in the sucess I'd have, but I would certainly try my best if I had to.

Agreed, and I would be glad I had a knife on me to try. I would get as much experience with the same knife, know it’s limits and what it is capable of doing, so I would at least have some basic knowledge behind it to back it up. Of all the threads I have read about surviving in an unexpected situation, knowing your equipment ( at least have a small EDC pack to carry with you) and some skills, and above all, keep a determined attitude that you will get through it.
