You all seen this...pretty cool...new to me

I think I remember seeing one a while back, neat stove top even without using the special cubes. Pretty cheap, too.

It looks neat. Here is a link at BackpackGearTest. Three testers, but so far just initial impressions. One test did not result in bringing water to boil and there was a lot of soot on the pot.

My buddy brought his new esbit stove camping a few months ago and he couldn't get water to boil either. Hot enough for tea but no bubbles. I can't recomend them.

I could use one of those with wood...sort of like this!

Me too!

Windshield is an absolute must have item, tinfoil and titanium tent pegs work.

Works as a twig assisted Esbit burner too, with a Snow Peak titanium 450/600 mug using a tinfoil lid.

no matter what fuel you use if you are using a fuel stove there will be soot on the container. I personally don't like them, I can get a fire going and bring water to boil in 5 minutes. especially using wetfire as tinder

Carry a small bottle of dishsoap. Apply a thin coating to the underside of the pot before putting it on the fire and the soot will just wipe off when you're done. :)

I just ordered one, but instead of the wetfire tinders, I'll be using Esbit- they are cheaper, burn a little hotter and larger so burn longer (you can always put them out and re-use what's remaining)

this stove combined w/ esbit tabs has proven very reliable- as mentioned above a windscreen would almost be mandatory- just happens I have some very thin Ti that should do the trick :)
