You can dodge a wrench, you coudl dodge a ball

It's a Klien 3/4" spud wrench, It weighs about 2 lbs and wrecks targets.
 
I'm more interested in the back side of that target.

What is holding the wood in?

Chopping up 4x4's or 6x6's and stacking them in a frame like that was my next idea, but I was trying to figure out how to keep them in place. My old tall target had deck screws, but eventually I wore through the vertical 4x4's and was hitting the deck screws.

My old target is worn through, and my old reliable throwing stump finally died (broke in half after about 20+ years as a throwing and chopping stump).
 
I used a bunch of 2x4s in the back to keep them sliding out the back. The problem is, I did make it a tad bit loose. It works fine with knives and spikes, but axes and wrenches are a bit too much for it.
