My wife found these in an Ace Hardware in Chicago:

The Old Timer has a 1994 trademark date. The electrician's knife is marked Gardner Bender,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have no idea of country of origin.

The Case has a 1999 tang stamp. 61048 SS on back although the box says Peanut 6220SS.
Was the knife put in the wrong box or was the sticker put on the wrong box. The box is
way too big for a peanut. Did they use a smaller box or just stuff paper in the box so a
peanut wouldn't rattle around?

I am sending her back to the store when she goes back. She had to ask for pocketknives and
they pulled out an old red toolbox for her to dig around in. I'd say she did pretty well.

Good stuff! I was at an Ace Hardware last fall, middle of Iowa...bought a Case Trapper, dated 2000, at a deep discount. And a Case peanut too.

Thanks guys. She is a great wife. The Schrade and electrician's knife are still in the packages for now.
I have used the Case.

We've got several ACE stores here locally, and the sidewalk/parking lot sales they do are sometimes a trip into the past. I once found six 108OT's in their blister packs, like yours, and two 34OT's like that as well. I bought several and gave them away to friends.

If you don't need to use it, I'd say keep it int he original package for now.

I've got a small collection of old knives still in blister packs. 3 Kamp Kings, 1 Forest Master and some others.

nice find. a true value hardware store around me had 3 or 4 US made 34ot still in the display case. i think they were going for $35. but i was low on cash and decided beer was more important. :D

Just got this last batch from the same Ace store in Chicago. The Case peanut came in an Old Timer box. Neither of the Old Timer knives match
the three boxes.

I really like the peanut, I may be joining the cult.
