You could cut my indecisiveness with these knives

Firstly, my apologies for a "thinking out loud" thread.

I just got a little money from a knife sale and I'm trying to decide between

the popular and currently unavailable(?) Hogue EX01 production folder
and
KM-750a.jpg

or

these beautiful handmade semi-custom Japanese fixed blade knives by Kikuo Matsuda, which are twice as expensive.

The Hogue would be a user but the other ones would probably be just for collecting though they're made from very capable OU-31 or D2 steel. Plus all my knives are production of some sort.
What would you do? Wait for the Hogue, join the ranks, and save some money; or go for the Hattori Hanzo knife? (maybe not quite but to my eyes this guy does some beautiful work.) I love the embellishment on the blade ~ unique style. But then I love that Hogue Alien handle. Dammit.

Jesse,
Get the Hogue. Got mine a couple of weeks ago; 3.5" drop point green g-mascus. I love it. I must have gotten one of the last few available because everyone seems to be out of stock now. It's awesome. I'm going to get the 4" drop point black aluminum next.

Everything about the KM-750 Kiku Konio appeals to me.
THAT is a knife that looks like it wants to get to work!
Anybody have any opinions on the OU-31?

I always opt for a folder . . . so I can take it with me on the go!

So +1 on the Hogue.

I would go with the first custom you have pictured. Looks awesome, has what sounds to be very good blade steel and I love the Skirmish like blade shape

Hogue ;) I have the Green G-MAscus 3.5 DP and the 4" Black G-Mascus DP. Love them!

I say go for the custom. There's nothing like a really well-made custom-built knife. And the Hogues will still be around when you sell your next knife . . .
