You don't pick the blade

it picks you. A few weeks ago I got some early Christmas cash and ordered a 25" sirupati. Awesome blade by Sher. So last week I come home and find the mailman has left a rather familiar box. I open it and find another 25" siru by Sher, only this one is wood handled. I e-mailed Uncle and told him I would have to send it back, no cash left over after buying presents. Then I get more cash from two unexpected relatives. Enough to make buying the second blade possible. Coincidence? I don't believe so. I don't yet know WHY I need two short swords, but it seems to me I'm supposed to have them. Who am I to argue with Karma or Fate?

SilverFoxKnows,

Uncle Bill knew you needed two of them that's what it was. He was taken over by the second one talking to him, telling him to send it to you. :D

It's a good rainy day for posting pics. Here's a few more khuks, all are heavily used. :)

 What were you cutting with them? Rocks? Got some gouges there in the edges of the GS and the Kobra.

No, that's a trick of the light, due to my poor photography skills. The bright spots along the edge ot the GS and kobra are where they were touched up with a stone when when I first got them, otherwise the edges are good as new. The AK actually does have two small dings on the edge of the sweet spot, you can see them if you look hard.

Hmmm... I guess that pic is pretty poor quality. The blades are actually quite fine, just a bad lighting angle. I don't beat my wife either, honest.

For some reason the opening episode of the "New Maverick" ( whatever it was called ) comes to mind where Maverick shows up for a poker game and the sheriff keeps taking hideout guns off him - of course one of the other players gets a gun in and pulls it while Maverick keeps his hand under the table and the other guy almost decides he's bluffing when Maverick says "I ain't never seen a lawman yet who'd look up the same sleeve for a second derringer!"

But then personally I feel if you need a gun, you ought to get three of a kind: one to shoot, a second for a back-up or "New York reload", and the third in case one of the others needs to be worked on. But then of course, I keep my other 20" Sirupati tied behind the truck seat with those nylon cable ties.

I think if one shows up totally unexpectedly it's just that much more difficult to sneak into the house. :D :D

But after all, what's life without a few surprises?
