Today I had a chance to join a "white glove tour" of some of the artifact storage spaces at the Fortress. We saw lots of artwork, furniture, tableware, clothing, and tools, but my focus was on the large collection of swords and, knives, edged tools. But, we also found a few guns!!

This was a very quick tour, in rooms with poor lighting, and a less than knowledgeable guide. So, some of these photos aren't the finest, but its what I was able to get. Furthermore, I know nothing about the pieces shown here.

Can you spot the odd one?

Yup, this one. I've never seen anything quite like it!

And, a few more.

Thanks for looking,

-Peter

That's some cool stuff, Peter. I've never seen a '3 ball/1 barrel' pistol. My dad would be fascinated by that. He's been a gun nut all his life and I've seen some unusual stuff he's found.

I had permission from the curator of a small museum to handle and photograph some civil war sabers. It's a couple hours away and I have'nt made it back there yet. Definately on my 'must do' list.

Thanks for sharing your pics.

That looks like a home made replica of a mutiny gun. I have seen others guns that were similarly made to look like old oddball pistols and such.
