Ok. Here is my dilemma. I've never owned a fully serrated Spyderco or a UKPK.

I can cash in enough AmEx points to get a free knife. I don't use the card much so it took me about two years to gather up 10K in points. I never rack up enough to get a vacation package or a high end TV or anything like that. Luckily AmEx isn't opposed to selling knives on their shopping site so I get a free Spyderco every couple years.

I can get a C11SBK - Delica, Black FRN, VG-10 fully serrated.

or

A C94PMR - UK Pen Knife, Maroon FRN, GIN-1 steel, plain edge.

Since I can not decide, I am going to let you good folks tell me what to get.

If you feel like telling me why you voted one way or the other, feel free to. If not, just vote. ;)

Thanks,

Although I once was a fan of full serrated blades, I am no longer. Plus I think those UK Pen Knives look AWESOME, and I would like to have one...

So, my vote went to the UKPK.

I would go with the Delica. Small size, big cutting power. And it locks.

i voted ukpk only cuz i like plain edge and i want to get one too. the delica is a great knife tho i love mine

Figured you must have a Delica of some sort already, so I voted UKPK. Always good to have a decent blade that can legally accompany you wherever you decide to go...

I would get the Delica. VG10, a back lock, and Spyderedge. Sounds better than GIN-1 and no lock, even with the wire clip. I have a Ladybug that's serrated, and it really adds a lot of cutting power to a small blade.

I didn't quite vote, but I'd vote Delica if it wasn't fully serrated. Why UKPK when you can have a locking blade? The only reason they developed the UKPK was so the poor folks across the pond can still have a quality blade while they couldn't have locks :(

If you like the UKPK, I'd say go for the Caly 3 or 3.5! They have similar design to the UKPK, but has a locking blade! Best of both worlds!!

I voted for the UKPK. This one is a no brainer for me. It's not black, has a wire clip, and is plain edge. I have one of the foliage green S30V models and it is the only modern folder I ever carry anymore. In my opinion it's one of the safest folders available since the blade can't close on you if your index finger is in the choil. There are also no rough edges to rub against your hand when reaching in your pocket with the way the blade folds into the handle.

I too voted UKPK. I love mine, and think that everyone should give it a shot. If there's a chance you may not like it...better to get it for free, right?

UKPK, plain edge, a steel unfamiliar to me, wire clip, MAROON, color isn't used all that often. The delica is the most popular Spyderco, so it's a little banal to me, better off getting something completely different to anything you've owned.

Looks like the UKPK is the clear winner on this one. I'm also a plain edge fan. As far as not having a lock goes, I'm a fan and user of traditional slip joints so a knife with no lock is not a deal breaker for me. Plus, like most, if not all of the good folks here I have a good assortment of locking folders already.

This is simply an opportunity for me to try out a Spyderco feature that I haven't tried yet. I'll still be getting a fully serrated. Just not on this order.

Thanks for all the help. I'll give my impressions and post some pics when it arrives.

Just thought I should mention, the FRN UKPKs are nice, but the back spring isn't very strong at all. IMO it needs to be stronger. I bet they address this in future releases of this knife. It's a good knife, but with a stronger back spring it could be great. Oh and some better steel.

UKPK because you don't need a lock to have a sweet knife and it's Plain Edge. Basically a must have IMHO :)

Good luck and as of now the UKPK seems to be winning.
