Shave it off with your EDC? I've been having a hard time not putting little baldspots on my arm...

I used to, but then my sharpening skills progressed to the point that I couldn't really gauge the sharpness by just shaving arm hair. Then I started push cutting paper towels. Then I started trying to whittle head hairs. Now I am trying to push cut TP. It's hit or miss, pretty hard to do

I do my chin whiskers, got a few scabs but hey the chicks at work think they look cool

In the last week or so I have sharpened nearly every folder I have, and as a result I'm getting really close to running out of arm hair.

When I was starting to get knives sharp enough to pop hair, I had to stop wearing shorts because it looked like I had some kind of hormonal disease. I just got a baggie of hair from a female friend who had a hairstyle change. Now my body hair is safe from my knives.

Yvsa once told me the patchy arms used to be referred to in some circles as "knife-fighter's mange". :D

The mange isn't as much of an issue of late... over than my kitchen blades, haven't had to do much sharpening, and I often try to gauge the keenness with my fingertips.

Sadly I seem to be having a recent habit of developing wire edges that could shave on one side and not on the other. Disappointing! :(

I am now able to resist the body hair shaving urge, I just make sure it can push cut paper and is able to catch on my fingernail without sliding at all, that's sharp enough for me (don't need it to be a scalpel, just a sharp knife).

From my elbow halfway to my wrists both arms are bald. I eventually just settled on using newsprint as my testing medium to save my poor forearms

See knife adiction really is a disease.., or at least the bald patches make it look like it is! But oh well, I still do it. Got a bald patch on my right arm right now! lol

Blade mange - at least it isn't contagious. :) I find myself shaving less than before when sharpening, and often just the back of my hand, which is less conspicuous. Also, I don't need to roll up a sleeve to test an edge that way. Sometimes less is more.

i dont cuz shaving arm or leg hair doesnt really tell you much. I shave my face with my knifes to check their sharpness.
