I only have basic knives, not the 1000 blades you guys have.

This one is just for fun. I bought it in New Orleans on a conference.

You guys are just out of my league. I can learn a lot. I bow down to all of you:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Nice collection.

Interesting to see another S&W big chopper on the forum in just a few days.

Give it time. Your wallet will not like your presence here, as these things can become addictive. And your choices of next knife on the list rarely go down in price...welcome to the sickness.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself, that's a nice start.

What really counts is if you're good with what you've got, keep learning and adapting your collection as your tastes change.

Take a regular look at the trade and sale sections, you might find a few you'd want to buy and trading up to something new is a fun way to do it.

Enjoy and keep 'em sharp!

I was just looking at a Boker Arkansas Toothpick, any suggestions as to the quality. Also any comments on SOG quality, as I have three and am looking at purchasing the Scuba/Demo and the Bowie 2.0. Please let me know if this is waste of my money and should be put towards another knife/s. The three I have are of nice quality(Seal 2000, Seal pup and Sog flash), but they are not wood.....

Very true, Rich

I haven't ever seen that particular model from S&W, and now I've seen it twice in two days from two different posters!!

If you don't mind my asking, what is the one piece knife between the Kabar and the Sog Seal Pup? That looks like a nice piece!

Its a Colt Combat Commander 440 Stainless, I have never seen another like it.
I bought it over 10 years ago.

SOG and Ka-Bar, nice start. Don't worry, you'll get to 1000 knives waaaaay before your wallet is ready. Most of us had to sell organs to do it. :D

The thing is, there's no magic number to how many knives makes a 'real' collection. In fact many of the forum members here are [gasp!] users and actually own very few knives at any given time.

You want a collection or accumulation numbering hundreds of knives? No trick to it, just buy one or two knives a month for 30 years. :) Many of us here are not youngsters...

Nice knives, by the way. I've always admired SOG's designs, but never got around to buying one.

Welcome to BladeForums!

Welcome to BladeForums! That's a pretty nice "collection" you have there already.

(None of us were in "our league" when we started. Some of us still aren't. I hear I may even get traded for a future draft pick. ;) )

There is one undeniable fact: this is the right place to learn about knives.

Don't feel too bad, your not the only one out of major league of knife collecting here. I have like 40 knives and am sorta happy with what I got but every time I see a karambit , or something different or new I feel the urge to buy it. So I might get there someday. All it takes is time and money:D

that is a great start for sure....

you just wait my friend, all in due time, if you hang out on here long enough you'll have lots of knives and no $$$....:o

resistence is futile...

ya got a lot larger collection than i had when i 1st started coming to this forum lol, ya better look out this place can cost ya some real $$$.

I guess it is not a matter of having so many knives.... I can't say that I collect knives... I just buy what I feel like buying and I use them all. I still haven't bough a knife not inteded for use. As long as your knives fullfill your needs (wheter they are using them outdoors or just collecting them as safe queens) it is ok.
