Thanks, I think. A newb here, learning from all of you. I've been playing with my new BM Nimravus, Vic Trekker, SOG Flash I, and Leatherman Charge Ti. And, too, my new Spyderco sharpener. I have sliced the tips of both thumbs, and Sunday night needed 5 stitches in the web of my right hand when foolishly I was trying to pry off the Leatherman metal tag from the sheath using my Nimravus. (I guess I can't blame you all for the beer I was drinking as I was doing that.) At least I got the ER doc to teach me suturing. The wife thinks I'm crazy, and I still have a Fallkniven S1 and a BM 710HSSR in route (from premiumknives.com). In all seriousness, I have learned a lot from you all (even if it doesn't show), and look forward to your "company" from here on out.

Well, I guess you learned a painful lesson about the old saying "use the right tool for the job"...

Hmmm, I think you're doing something wrong.

I've been collecting and using knives for almost 30 years. Yeah, I've cut myself a few times (last time, about 15 years ago), but I've never needed stitches.

Prying the Leatherman metal tag off the sheath...
I'm not going to bother asking why you were doing that, or why you thought a knife was the proper tool to use... :) but I hope you got it done after all the bloodshed.

Best Wishes,
Bob

Welcome to the party! It's always good to get some fresh new blood into the forums.

Heh....Sounds like if you're going to continue this hobby a heavy investment in superglue, popsicle sticks, and duct tape may be in order....:D

(Shortly after I did that I lost my reserved parking spot at the local ER, and they quit sending me "Customer of the month" coffee mugs...)

weclome to the forums!

Welcome..... I'm not much more than a NEWB myself. I myself was a little "drunk" after the game on Sunday and managed to cut my left thumb with my Opinel # 8 cutting some jalapeños. Some new Skin did the trick though. Knives and beer....... good combo huh.
