What is the story with Randall knives? What are they all about? Descent?

Probably one of the best knives every made. A long legacy, an interesting history, and they are all hand forged. There have been songs about them, they have been to the moon, and there is one in the Smithsonian. Read about them, as I promise you, it will interest anyone that likes sharpened steel.

My friend has several, and his father has one of the best collections in the world. Seriously. I like the Model 3, Model 14, and the Model 26 out of all of them. Check them out.

in your opinion what makes them the best knives ever made? There isn't any information on their site that shows what steels they use or RC.
From what I have seen leather handles do not last. They start to unravel and dry rot.
The actual style of the knife seems ordinary and basic old school. What would make me believe that if their designs haven't changed then their quality and durability has fallen behind too.

It's more of an iconic type of a thing.

Sure they're amazing knives, great users and all, but there's alot more going on with them than just their useability.
