ETA-move or delete whatever you want. I just put in some fairly basic ideas of what I thought would work for such a thing, but only as categories on the main page.

This is a GREAT idea! Not only will it be useful for the general population, but maybe we won't get people asking the same old question for the 1000th time in the forums!

I will try to contribute. And I urge all knowledgeable members to do the same!

there's a wikipedia article on blade steels, if that is what you are talking about - we had a lengthy thread about it not too long ago
