My first spyderco didn't last very long as my only spyderco. Pulled the ole trigger on a Gayle Bradley 2 earlier today. This was about a week in the making, and damn it's hard to choose one when there's so many awesome choices in the lineup under $150. I was still going back and forth on about 3 or 4 different models when I finally had to literally hurry to the webpage and hit the place order button to finally end the madness. On the up side, the next decision should be at least a little bit easier since there's one less model to fret over lol. I know a lot of people like the gb1 better than the 2 due to it being more robust, but I don't see myself needing the extra stout build, and the gb2 seems to be plenty stout for a folder and it's about $40 cheaper. I'm really looking forward to getting it in hand and trying out the m4 steel. I'm not sure if I'm going to force a patina or try my luck and let it happen naturally and hope I can avoid any rusting. It does look really nice with a patina though. Ugh just what I need, more decisions!

Welcome to the madness George! I see more Spydies in your future.

Keep your eye on the Exchange here for knives on your wish list. Buying knives on the secondary market is a great way to build your collection and save some money. Some great deals out there if you keep your eyes peeled.

You're right about the exchange, that's how I got my first (pm2), but it this time it seemed like none of the ones I was after were available, and patience isn't one of my strong suits lol. But, I'm happy to have bought new this time and have the warranty and whatnot.

I started with a Delica 4 in black, about 25 spyderco's later, I still haven't had my fill of Spyderco. While some of my favorite knives aren't spyderco (ZT 0450, Small Sebenza, 556-1 mini grip, any XHP recon 1), there are just so many awesome Spyderco's, with about half of my collection being filled up by them. PM2, Manix 2, Domino, Sage 5, Sage 2, Karahawk being my favorites, hoping the Southard that I have on it's way will impress.

Recently a GB1 popped up ;) and gone in half day or so.
Yeah I saw that one, it did not stick around very long lol. I like the blade shape of the 1 a little better, but that's about it really, the rest is a toss up so I decided to save the 40 bucks.

The others in my final list this time were the sage 1 and 5, native 5 g10 s30v and s110v (the blurple g10 was the one I came really close to buying), and manix 2 g10. I really want to pick up all of these and will eventually, especially the natives.

You need to try one of the backlock designs.
I was really really close (and have been for awhile actually) to picking up the g10 s110v native 5. That knife is beautiful and looks like it's so well made and put together. I've also had my eye on the frn stretches, I love the blade shape on those. I seriously need to quit fooling around and grab the stretches since it seems they won't be around much longer and are already getting harder to find.

Go and grab those stretches. If you're in US, some places are still available.
There're some used ZDP at good price on the exchange. I missed out on a very good NIB buy of VG10 recently. :(

I may very well grab at least a zdp 189 but it'll have to wait till later this week. I wish I had the funds to buy them all right now lol.

Just got a Hap40 Stretch. Ergos are great; really liking this knife and plan to grab a ZDP-189.

Good call George. Everyone should try Gayle Bradley. 1 or 2, they're both great knives. Some would argue that the blade on the 2 is more desirable. Fit and finish, quality are outstanding on both. Enjoy my friend👍
By the way, could you tell my wife that we are right?:D

I could try, but judging by the reactions I get from mine, I'm not the most convincing person when it comes to explaining things to the fairer sex lol.

I'm kind of a fit and finish junkie, so that was a big contributing factor in my decision to get a Bradley. I've not heard/read a single complaint about either ones fit and finish, and that's not all that common. There's always at least one or two posts somewhere where someone got one with sharp edges, or a gap here or there, something. But it didn't seem to be the case with these knives. Or really any of the Taiwan made spyderco knives. Hence my desire to start picking up some of the sage series blades.
