I am constantly amazed at the compasion that exists here on these forums. Busse Combat goes to the extreme to restore my faith in humanity. I hope to one day meet Jerry and Jennifer to have the pleasure to shake his/her hand.


MikeH, prayers work wonders. I won't go into all the details, but there is no other reason that I am here today. I survived three skull fractures, brain swelling and three months in a coma and am here today. The doctors gave up but my family did not. That was 16 years ago. Keep the faith, the brain is an amazing thing.

The Busse gang rocks. I haven't personally heard of other companies showing support for their customers like that.

MikeH, hang in there. Prayers and time can do wonders. Feel fortunate that you were able to share so much, and keep looking forward to the time you can start making more special memories. You and your family will be in our prayers and thoughts.
 
This is brought tears to my eyes also! Mike, we will also pray for you as well! Busse really is a class act and some of the best folks in the world! Makes me proud to own a Busse knife! God bless all!
 
As to whether I was going to finally go for a Busse... But after reading this particular thread and what prompted it, I think I've finally found a company that I feel is deserving of my business. Yes, I've had wonderful experiences with several other companies and a slew of makers, some of whom have even given in the way Busse has... but I have to admit, few of them would show such compassion at the individual level... yes, it's a wonderful gesture and an easy way to write off a batch of blades by sending them to the guys going into harm's way, but to get down and try to help someone who has suffered such personal tragedy...
Well, I think I know where I'm going to spend my money... I don't "need" another blade, but since I'm going to add to my collection anyway, Jerry Busse's actions have moved me enough to decide where my next piece is coming from... though it may be an older one as I'm still attracted to his straight handled versions...;)
 
Jerry & Jennifer, you are a class act! Great to see a manufacturer pay attention to what's going on and then do something so compassionate.

It's stories like this and from talking to Jerry personally that I think he is probably the best. He excels in taking a special and personal interest in his customers. I have never known anybody as infectious in enthusiasm about knives as he is. The guy is a class act all the way! Cheers! :D
