At the risk of some of you jumping my case, I thought I'd post this little thought that constantly runs through my nearly vacant head. I wish there were a mediumSebenza. Something with about a 3.25 inch blade and a bit meatier than the small.

I carry a small because it carries so well, but sometimes I wish it had a bit more beef to it. The large is just too big for me to carry day-in and day-out.

Do any of you ever have such a thought?

I'm not looking for CRK to produce such a knife...I just wish it existed.

:)

Or maybe someday there will be an EXTRA large:D along with a medium;)

See if you can handle one somewhere, even used, just to get a feel for it. I carry my plain one when wearing snug pants like Levis but I'll switch to the inlaid one in looser pants.

By the same token, the plain Sebenza is a remarkable piece of elegant, minimalist design. There is just enough handle to cover the blade and it seems every bit of it has been reduced to the absolute minimum necessary to achieve it's desired function. I think I appreciate the elegance of it's design as much or more than it's actual capabilities.

Very few folders are really capable of much heavy cutting, most people would want a larger grip if they were to apply heavy pressure in a controlled fashion. But hey, this is a folder, not some nine inch slab of steel.

Mine are plain. I've been thinking about one with micarta.

Thanks,
:)
Purchased my first Sebenza about three months ago which was a large CGG Native American design. It is a little two large for me for EDC. Just won, on ebay. a new small classic with micarta inlays for $333. I also like a blade about 3.250 inches in length but feel that the small sebenza will fit the bill. Have been collecting and making some straight knives for about 18 years. Thought I new alot about knives until I ran across this Forum. Lots to learn here. Thanks all.

I always thought the same thing -- a medium would be very nice...

I went with the small first, then came across a great deal on a large. After a while I found myself wearing only the large. I wear it now even on suit pants. It is long, but it's so slim that it doesn't feel obtrusive. The only problem is with the sheeple -- but i decided they could get over it ;)

Sounds like there are several of us that would like to see such a knife. I would like to carry a large, but it just doesn't fit with much of my daily routine...so it a small for me now.

Take care everyone.

:)

A medium with micarta inlay sounds just about perfect.

Until then I'll just keep on rotating between large and small classics and regulars, and Mnandis when I have to play really nicely with the sheeple.
