They wear small gloves!

I'm look for a good pair of gloves. Tough and warm but still allow me to feel stuff. I do have small hands so not all gloves fit well...any suggestions?

Depending on your intended use, you might look into police gloves. I imagine some thought has gone into making gloves for pat-down searches that allow good feel and offer protection against needles, etc. Plus with a lot of female officers out there, the size range should vary a lot.

Hope you like the color black if you go this route!

Try a pair of those plain old brown cotton jersey gloves. They come in sizes s/m/l/xl. Usually cost around a buck or so. Wells Lamont makes them as well as others. No such thing as a glove with feeling being really warm, but these are a good compromise for me. Not terribly durable either, but I buy them in 12pks and just pitch them when its time.

You might want to check out this:

I have a pair of the Hunters (#D211) and love'em...

Warmer than I ever expected. See their sizing page for a proper fit...

I got some that I like at a fishing tackle shop, woven and with some rubber spots on the palm for grip, they also had some in poliester fleece, sorry I don´t have brand names, just wanted to mention that a fishing shop may be a good place to check.

I've got short fingers but fairly large palms so buying gloves have been sort of a pain in the ass. Hatch gloves seem to really fit me best but only after stretching out the palm areas. The fingers are about as good as I'll ever find. Although the ones I own really don't provide much warmth. I did pick up some Equalizer driving gloves from WalMart for less that $10. They are one size stretch gloves with suede palms and trim and 40 oz. Thinsulate lining which have done a pretty good good keeping my hands warm and provide a fair amount of dexterity. Good luck

Gee Whiz Knife11, judging from your "photo" I don't think you will have much luck with the Cop gloves. Maybe Toys 'R Us ?

Yeah! He always wants to wear daddy's gloves... likes the way my hands look in them...Like there sapce gloves or somthing!

Been looking at the mechanix gloves...some aren't to bad...The cop gloves being all leather I think might not hold up well in a construction type application.

Gonna keep looking around at brick and mortors for something similar to what we've been talking about so I can get some idea.

dayuhan,
Same problem here! short fingers but normal size palms...been looking at Small size glove even thought my palm measure a medium

Filson! Try a pair of their gray Merino wool gloves for about 25 bucks. Very warm, soft, and comfortable. I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and my hands have been toasty

Knife11... If you're in construction then the police glove thing is probably not appropriate. The leather on these things tend to be thin and would be torn easily under heavy indoor/outdoor conditions. The mechanics glove route may be more suitable to hostile environments. You need tough, warm, thin in that order (my best guess anyways). Your notion of poking around at brick and morters is probably a good one. Ordering over the web offers some surprises on occasion. Savings are lost if you need to return or exchange on your shipping nickle... Good luck !

Knife,

My best fitting gloves are my work gloves. A pair of Wells-Lamont cowhide. Almost yellow in color with black cloth straps with little red balls to cinch the cuffs. Took me FOREVER to find them in a small but when I did, I bought 3 pairs. They cost me under $8 a pair about a year and a half ago at Lowes. Not much for warmth but plenty durable and excellent fingertip dexterity.
