...like when driving and you accidentally run a stop sign, or in my case this morning, I opened my Benchmade Mini Ambush and sliced my thumb open.

Maybe this thing is too "mini" for my hands or maybe I need to familiarize myself with this knife a bit more. This is my first Benchie, and I love the lock, but the blade movement from closed to open has a slight "jerk" to it. Is this the case with all knives with this locking mechanism (roll-lock)? To clarify, I was opening it normally and not flicking it open. The blade "jerks" a bit when opening, and that's when my thumb came off of the thumbstud and pressed up against the blade. Thank God for super-glue. lol.

My first one handed opener was a Kershaw Storm. I had never used a knife like it before. First day I got, I ended up cutting my thumb. It wouldn't stop bleeding all night.
More recently I got my first axis lock and I was not good at closing it, and ended up cutting my middle finger. Good thing they included bandaids

Ha! I just stabbed myself in my left palm while trying to open a plastic package. It happens man. Won't be the first or last, when you're dealing with a sharp object that's doing work next to your other hand doing the work.

It will happen, but with each and every time you will become more cautionous and familiar with your blade. I bought Becker Necker and cut my thumb deeply in the next 5 minutes. I pay much more attention since then. And my next knives didin't bite me.

i feel for u man
i once dug a hole in drywall using an avalanche, and when i was done the knife slipped out of my sweaty mitt and sliced my index finger open
but hey, look on the bright side
the cut's so sharp it heals quickly, and you'll have one more scar to impress the laydies with ^ ^

Well, if my photography wasn't so crappy, you would see how it was a clean cut, for sure - my thumb was "smiling". One of those "so clean it didn't bleed" for a few seconds. It's all good - still learning the hard way :D
