Well I finally popped my Becker Cherry. Picked up my first Becker from Widerstand, yes it's a 77. I always liked the style and function of Becker's but was kinda looking for a blade with more rust resistance than 1095. I do much of my activities near the ocean where the salt spray can reek havoc on steel. After a long hiatus (couple of years) I came back to this forum and saw that there had been a run of S30V BK7's. I started to watch the exchange when this one came up. I know it is kinda expensive but "buy once, cry once" right? Are all Becker's made this well? I never thought of putting a patina for protection until reading this forum. Now I am eying a 2 and 9, maybe a 10 (if possible)when will the madness end? Great another hobby to suck my wallet dry. Oh well can't take it with you. Happy Holidays to all!!

How many of us can say our first Becker was the 77? Nice pick up and from a really unique individual...I was lucky enough to get my 10 from him...hell of a good guy...definately a one of a kind dude.

my first was a Machax.

i would like to be buried with it, but that might seem like a waste?

mmm, interestint. i shoud create a new will :)

though my intention is to live 300 centuries :>

Yeah there is something about that 10 that is so appealing. You can never have enough guns, knives and lights right? It's like I tell my wife, "how is that handbag going to help us during an emergency?" followed by watching some videos on the Katrina aftermath.:D

That's how you dive into the deep end of the pool right there.

A 77 as a first Becker. Well Done !

Welcome to the club.

We got him hooked, reel him in guys! Congrats on the 77, you will love it. Happy Holidays and welcome!

Nice score, and just about every other becker you get from now on will seem like a bargain

My first Becker is a Brute from Camillus I didn't find out that they stopped making them until recently when I went looking to buy another for a friend and found that Camillus went out of business and sold Becker to Kabar. My brute is one of the best big knives I own and still goes on most all of my adventures... Now just this year it has been accompanied by a BK2 and a BK11, then I found a website that sells the knives and canvas micarta scales... So I ordered a set of scales for the Brute and the BK2 and the BK11... I like em so much that last month I went and ordered a Bk11csm and a Eskabar... And scales for the bk11csm... Ha now i have a Becker for just about every occasion:thumbup:
