My key set is starting to jingle like cowboy spurs but what can you do eh. I stumbled across these little doo dads while getting some dielectric grease. I couldn't say no to the sale price. Hang one off of a couple of packs and one on the expanding key chain I suppose.

I have two, one in my tool box at work and one I cut in half and drilled a new lanyard hole, it's my firesteel striker. Not sure why but it just carves up my misch metal rod, and throws a ton of sparks on the ferrocium. For sharpening more lighter cuts is the order of business, you can really mess up an edge with too much force.

Yes, it said to use light strokes on the back of the package. I gave it a whirl and it really does remove easily. I wanted them primarily as a rod striker\magnesium shaver. I have a carabiner on a couple of packs with fatwood, magnesium, one of these strikers and a multitool. I'd use it to sharpen a knife\axe in a pinch.

Yup , greatest firesteel scraper ever. Got 3-4 already.
And...will just do great on that 32" bar of magnesium anode I bought.

They are not too cheap around here, anywhere between 10 and 20 bucks, actually. But that's Canada prices.

Oooops, I guess that I was too late. I offered to send you a decent chunk to avoid buying an entire bar. No loss though, it is great stuff. :)

Ya, I saw them in passing a while back because you mentioned them, and it sounded like a great idea, which it was. Thanks. I check the Can. Tire flyer like a junkie because they always have something cool as a loss leader. These were on for $7.00 and I could not pass that up.
